My name is Michelle Webb; (white cis female; she/her) and I live in Markham Ontario which is just outside of Toronto. Check out my Land Acknowledgement here. I have been a Child and Youth Counselor since 2007 and have had the privilege of working with youth in Live-In Youth Centers, Elementary Schools, High Schools, as well as Hospital settings. I am a part-time UVic student and I am both nervous and excited, equally for the challenge of navigating work/life/school balance. The idea of staying teachable is important to me and I am excited to do that / be that both formally and informally. I am very much looking forward to learning more about how I can use technology and social media to aid in my personal learning and networking. Moreover, I am very excited to be able to use what I am learning in EDCI 338 with the clients I am working with now and in the future. Being able to support the vulnerable youth I work with in creating a PLN that supports their mental and physical health will be invaluable.

I spend my outside of UVic time with my family. I am privileged to have a partner and four children. My children are 3, 4, 7, and 10 and we have a 3 year old rescue Grate Dane Mastiff cross.

I am very much looking forward to working with you all throughout this semester.
